Daria Grinkova is the oldest daughter of Olympic champion, Ekaterina Gordeeva. Her father is Sergei Grinkov who suffered a fatal heart attack when Daria was a mere three years old.

She was born on September 11, 1992. and has grown up surrounded by the figure skating world. She was the sole inspiration for her parents, Katia and Sergei to return to the Olympic ice once again, in 1994. The pair obviously has great love for their daughter as she inspired them all the way to win Olympic Gold.

One of her first public appearances was at a "Stars On Ice" show as a surprise to Ekaterina Gordeeva, by fellow skater and close friend, Scott Hamilton. In 1996, she attended the memorial show for her father. She watched as her mother skated as a singles skater as a tribute to her deceased father.
In 1997, she starred along with her mother in her acting debut as Lizzy in the television special, "Snowden on Ice." Her mother launched two fragrances lines
